August 31, 2008Professor Herold is due to publish his detailed and thorough findings on civilian casualties in October, coinciding with the anniversary of the the start of the war in Afghanistan. I will update the compendium on this blog as I get more data.
Delighted to see someone else keeping tabs on Afghan civilians killed by US/NATO action. Let me make two comments: (1) I believe the exact figure for the slaughter in Azizabad is 91 (we have a list of names); (2) your listing comprises 13 incidents in which civilians were killed whereas my list has 16 incidents (plus a 17th pending in Kunar) for the period August 4 - 30th. That said, our totals for August are similar with mine being at 151-184.
